Touch Rugby is a minimal contact mixed-sex sport played on a pitch half the size of a rugby field. The game emphasises running, passing, catching and teamwork. Touch doesn't involve the heavy/full contact of traditional rugby and as a result is popular with men and women. It appeals to a wide range of ages and abilities, from juniors to masters and from slight to heavy builds. Touch Rugby is the fastest growing mixed gender team sport in the world today.
Please see movie clips below.
It is a competitive sport with a good social scene.
In April 2010, touch rugby started in Inverness. We are always welcoming of new players of all abilities and will provide coaching (along with some fun) for anyone that would like to get involved..
We play and organise to internationally recognised Federation of International Touch (FIT) rules.
If you're interested in joining or starting a team, please email info@invernesstouch.co.uk or get in touch via www.facebook.com/InvernessTouch
Please note that Touch has finished for the year, and will return around April 2012. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for the latest information.
